Because my field of work is mostly defined by a set of rules, in 2007, I decided to escape its rigidity by having a more balanced, relaxing, yet creative after-work alternative: painting.
A loose approach - bending lines and pushing colors beyond what the viewer expects - invites the observer to question his or her perception of reality. This, I consider, is the major objective of my works.
Beautiful architecture, favorite vacation destinations, family members, people in the news or simply a photo that i admire are my chosen subjects - all from current or past experiences. And, because I am somewhat a traditionalist, I identify with many artists from centuries past who I am reminded, too, worked in oil. |
